A large, bustling, well-oiled machine of a school that - almost always – matches expectations. Children here are busy, happy and safe. A good choice for your all-rounder who isn’t likely to get fazed and is ready to seize the many opportunities on offer. Parents a real mixture of busy professionals (in a high proportion of families both parents are working hard), mostly English and based in north London but there are some European nationals, and other overseas parents from further afield – US, Canada, China and Japan. Lots are in the media and the arts, and there is a smattering of celebrities and a number of first time buyers...

Headteacher
Since January 2019, James Stenning, previously head of sixth form and deputy head academic at North Bridge House Canonbury. Educated at a prep school in Kenya then Downside school, with an economics degree from Swansea, a PGCE and a masters in education leadership from Buckingham. Began his career teaching economics at St Olave's grammar, then head of economics and head of extracurricular at Highgate (where economics became one of the most popular A levels, and he was heavily involved in DofE and outdoor education). Joined NBH Canonbury in 2014. Married to Tom, a group account director for an advertising agency. Very keen runner, often taking part in marathons in far flung corners of the globe such as North Korea, Sierra Leone and Nairobi.
